Our History, Vision, Mission & Beliefs

Our History

Scripture Union Ahoada Area was officially elevated to Area status by Scripture Union Nigeria Headquarters in 1997. For 29 years, the Area has remained committed to making God's Word known to children, young people, and families through evangelism, discipleship, Bible study, and Christian fellowship.

Today, Scripture Union Ahoada Area operates across seven zones: Ahoada, Akpor, Emohua, Engenni, Ikwerre, Omoku, and Obio, covering seven Local Government Areas.

Over the years, the Area has extended its ministry to approximately 450 schools, bringing the message of Christ to thousands of students through school fellowships, Bible clubs, camps, and outreach programmes.

Currently, the Area oversees 54 Pilgrims Fellowships, providing opportunities for spiritual growth, Christian leadership, discipleship, and fellowship within local communities.

Our mission remains unchanged: to reach the next generation with God's Word, raise godly leaders, strengthen Christian fellowships, and transform lives and communities through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Our Vision

To see every child, young person and family in the Ahoada Area encounter God through His Word and be transformed by the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Our Mission

To make God's Word known to children, young people and families, and to encourage people of all ages to meet God daily through the Bible and prayer, in partnership with local churches and communities.

Our Beliefs

  • The Bible is the inspired and authoritative Word of God.
  • God exists eternally as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
  • Salvation is by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.
  • Every person is called to a daily relationship with God through His Word.
  • The church is called to make disciples of all nations.
